Abstract
Amorphous Ni-Zr powder was prepared by mechanical alloying of crystalline nickel and zirconium powder in an argon flux. X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements were used to follow the process. The wavenumber of the principal diffraction peak and the crystallisation behaviour of the amorphous powder were compared with results known from studies of melt-spun NixZr1-x.Keywords
