Abstract
Electric power generation in Brazil is mainly based on hydropower (97% of total production in 1984). This paper describes the main features Editorial of the Brazilian Hydroelectric System as well as some power generation expansion possibilities. The operation of the system is also described, including a chain of scheduling procedures with different planning horizons and degrees of details in the representation of the system.Keywords
