Abstract
A discussion is presented of the elements of the sea-ice seasonal cycle which are significant in climatic description, and an annual cycle of measured microwave radiance is shown and discussed. Areas are defined where interpretation of spacecraft data could improve the seasonal picture of sea ice including snow cover, surface albedo, and ice production. Keywords
