Abstract
Although provision of open space in and around cities attracts much attention these days, current methods and ideas are not likely to be very successful. The need is for more careful definition of kinds of open space needed, more accurate determination of area needed, much greater usage of the areas established, and—above all—development of public-interest groups directly concerned with maintaining areas once they are established. Keywords
