Abstract
A linear relationship exists when the logarithm of the bicarbonate concentration (measured as total CO2 in m[image]/L) of pancreatic juice collected from 4 unanesthetized dogs, permanently fitted with gastric and duodenal fistulas, is plotted against the reciprocal of the rate of secretion (expressed as reciprocal of ml/min/kg of body weight). For each of the 4 dogs there is a different mathematical expression of this relationship, and differences among the slopes are highly significant. Keywords
