Abstract
ETHAMBUTOL has found wide clinical acceptance as an effective agent for the treatment of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections in man. Of the recognized "side effects" associated with the administration of ethambutol, ophthalmic toxicity has received the most attention.We have found a substantial increase in the serum urate concentration in patients being treated with ethambutol.
