Abstract
When pseudomembranous colitis began to appear in association with antibiotic treatment of infections, questions of etiology had urgent bearing on clinical management of this life-threatening condition: Was it a drug or a bug? Which drug? Which bug? Intensive research has yielded some key answers. A single pathogen has been identified, as have the therapeutic agents of choice. Keywords
