Abstract
Discrete ordinate method has been applied to the Bhatnagar‐Gross‐Krook model to analyze the velocity field in the Knudsen layer. An exact relation between the macroscopic velocity at the plate and the shear stress has been obtained. The method also provides accurate numerical results for quantities of interest such as slip coefficient. Another method of solution using a transform technique is also indicated. Keywords
