Abstract
In view of the issue raised recently by Mercouris and coworkers concerning difficulties, due to a singularity in the free - free dipole moment, in calculations of above-threshold ionization in intense laser fields, we examine this singularity showing that the difficulties are in reality an artefact. Keywords
