Abstract
The formation of hemolysin by streptococci is closely related to the variety and concn. of peptone used in the medium. For each batch of peptone there is an optimum conc. The factors responsible for the inhibitory effect of high peptone conc. are discussed. Peptone fractions can be isolated which separately promote multiplication and hemolysin formation. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
