Abstract
Nordenskiöld's (1969) revision of Australian Luzula led to an upsurge of collecting in the genus, which in turn has revealed new taxa here described as L. atrata Edgar sp. nov., L. ovata sp. nov., L. acutifolia Nordenskiöld subsp. nana Edgar subsp. nov., and L. oldfieldii Hook.f. subsp. dura Edgar subsp. nov. In addition, two new combinations L. flaccida (Buch.) Edgar and L. densiflora (Nordenskiöld) Edgar are made. For New Zealand, L. decipiens Edgar sp. nov. is described and an Australian species L. flaccida is recorded as introduced to this country. The characters distinguishing Australian and New Zealand species and the relationships between all Australasian species are discussed. Keywords
