Abstract
Fifteen milligrams of benzedrine sulphate were given orally to each of 5 college students and Fisher''s method of analysis of variance used to determine the effect of the drug upon blocking in color naming as defined by Bills. Benzedrine had no perceptible effect upon frequency, length, or distr. of blocks when compared to control trials of the exptl. group and to comparable trials of control groups. The drug did produce a slight increase in the speed of color naming responses and characteristic subjective reactions as reported by members of the exptl. group. The statistical method used allows for a more efficient exptl. design than that of the classical drug expt. and effectively demonstrates the extent of the individual differences present..
