Abstract
The giant resonance region in was studied with inelastic scattering of 240 MeV α particles at small angles including 0°. A peak at with was found to contain of the isoscalar energy-weighted-sum-rule (EWSR) strength and of the isoscalar EWSR. Evidence was found for of the isoscalar EWSR between with a centroid of and a rms half width of 11.1 MeV but a definitive assignment could not be made. The resulting is in agreement with systematics from heavier nuclei.
