Abstract
The low-lying excitation spectra of Be and O have been calculated on the basis of particle-vibration coupling model. Experimentally observed parity inversion of the ground state and first excited state of Be has been reproduced. A fairly good agreement with experiment is obtained regarding excitation energies and spectroscopic factors for both nuclei. Calculated neutron rms radii confirm the observed neutron halo for these nuclei.
