Abstract
We present adaptive nonlinear schemes for longitudinalcontrol of automated heavy duty vehicles. An importantcontrol objective is string stability, which ensures that errorsdecrease as they propagate downstream through theplatoon. It is well known that string stability requiresintervehicle communication if a constant spacing policyis adopted. When vehicles operate autonomously, stringstability can be achieved if speed-dependent spacing withconstant time headway is used. This, however,...Keywords
