Abstract
In the context of cavity QED a scheme is proposed for the generation of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states. In the scheme three appropriately prepared atoms are sent through an initially empty cavity. Choosing the interaction time of each atom with the field appropriately, the three atoms are finally in a state having the GHZ form. The scheme is easily generalized for preparing n-atom entangled states. Keywords
