Abstract
Model Hamiltonians have been constructed to fit energy bands which have previously been calculated by Jacobs for the noble metals for two values of the lattice constant in copper, two values in silver and one value in gold. These model Hamiltonians are presented and the dependence of their parameters on the lattice constant is discussed and related to the work of Heine and of Jacobs. Keywords
