Abstract
In guinea pigs the virus of the endemic typhus of the southeastern U. S. A. shows the same manifestations of infection as does Mexican "tabardillo." It differs from Old World typhus in the character of the fever curve, in the relative rarity of typhus nodes in the brain, and in the constant presence of an obvious and well-defined scrotal lesion. Rickettsia-like organisms were demonstrated in the epithelial cells lining the tunica vaginalis.
