Abstract
The controlled propagation of domain tips in appropriately prepared thin magnetic films has been shown to lead to a wide variety of possible thin‐film devices. Two particular devices which utilize this technique are discussed. The first is a new type of thin‐film shift register the operation of which depends upon the speed and directionality of domain tip propagation. The second is a system of thin‐film, all‐magnetic logic which utilizes, in addition, the forces of interaction between domain tips brought into proximity. The construction and operation of prototype devices of this sort are described.
