Abstract
Iron retention, as affected by route of administration, was studied using 3-wk.-old Hormel strain miniature swine. Iron-59 retention was measured, for a 28-day period, using the whole body counting technique. The pigs retained approximately 75% of the injected iron; however, there was no significant effect due to route of injection. Copyright © 1968. American Society of Animal Science .
