Changes in the dental arches of adults with unoperated clefts

Abstract
Ten adult patients with unoperated or late repair of cleft lip and palate were compared with a group of control patients. No significant difference was found in the maxillary arch length or in the intercanine or inter first premolar widths in the maxillary arch but there was a significant difference in the inter first permanent molar dimension. No significant changes were found in any of the measurements in the mandibular arch.
