Abstract

Our object in this paper is to prove the following result.THEOREM. Let G be a finite group satisfying the following conditions: (*) G has subgroups L₁, L₂ such that L₁ ≃ SL(2, q₁), L₂ ≃ SL(2, q₂), [L₁ L₂] = 1, , where j is an involution, and |C(j): L¹L₂| = 2. (**) where n² = 1,
