Abstract
Unfortunately, an attitude reflective of 19th century typology is often coupled with modern taxonomic inquiries assessing molecular attributes of taxa. A greater respect for the reality of genetic individuality and variation within populations must develop before intertaxa evaluations of molecular phenotypes can be meaningful. Keywords
