Abstract
This paper describes statistical methods for planar random tessellations. At first the estimation of mean values such as the mean number of cells per unit area is considered. Then some variability characteristics are defined and determined for the DIRICHLET tessellation relative bo a POISSON point process. Statistical methods for their estimation are suggested and demonstrated for five examplesKeywords
