Abstract
A study of the cytochrome content of normal tissues showed it to be a constant constituent of all epithelial tissues and of muscle, but that it was not present in connective tissues. It was likewise present in carcinomatous epithelium, but in mammary carcinoma it was present in very variable quantities. The pigment underwent no appreciable variation after removal of the tissue from the body.
