Abstract
The volatile products from autoxidation at ambient temperature ofcis,cis‐6, 9‐octadecadiene have been analyzed by combined capillary gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry (Cap GC‐MS). The compounds of interest from a mechanistic viewpoint were pentane, pentanal, hexanal, 1‐pentanol, octane, 2‐heptenal, octanal, and nonanal. Other compounds which appear to be secondary reaction products were 2‐pentylfuran, 3‐hexen‐1‐ol, amyl formate, hexyl formate, and octyl formate. Keywords
