Effect of Age on Tumor Induction In C57BL Mice

Abstract
A single subcutaneous dose (200 μg) of 3-methylcholanthrene was given to weanling, adult, and old C57BL mice. All old mice, 96% of adult mice, but only 75% of weanling mice, developed tumors at the injection site. The mean induction period was much longer in weanling mice.
