Abstract
Plasma sprayed Y1Ba2Cu3O7-x coatings obtained on stainless steel substrates showed superconductivity after being annealed in oxygen at 950 degrees C for about an hour. Coatings thinner than 100 mu m do not show superconductivity. The current density varied from 3 to 15 A cm-2 depending on the specimen. Coatings prepared with fine powder have 3 to 5 times higher current density values compared with coarse powder specimens. Keywords
