Abstract
Sideband resonances have been observed in the rf spectrum of free ions stored in a rf quadrupole trap. It was found that the magnetic resonance signals occur not only at the hfs frequency but also at the hfs frequency plus or minus integral multiples of the macromotion and the Larmor precession frequencies of the ions. Keywords
