Isospin dependence of nucleon-nucleon interactions and its effect on the cross sectionσ(ν¯e+d→n+n+e+)

The cross section for the reaction ${\overline{\nu }}_e+d\to n+n+e^{+}$ was calculated for ten values of the $n-n$ scattering length from - 15.0 to - 23.7 fm and for three very different fission antineutrino spectra. The maximum effect is to change the conclusion of Reines, Sobel, and Pasierb from $R<\mathrm{}0.63\mathrm{}$ to $R<\mathrm{}0.71\mathrm{}$ where $R\equiv \frac{{\Gamma }_{\exp }}{{\Gamma }_{\mathrm{theor}}}$ and $\Gamma =\frac{〈\sigma ({\overline{\nu }}_e+d\to n+n+e^{+})〉}{〈\sigma ({\overline{\nu }}_e+d\to n+p+{\overline{\nu }}_e)〉}$.
