Abstract
Venous blood samples were collected monthly from 60 male and 60 female Sinclair(S-1) miniature swine from 1-36 mo. of age. Serum cholesterol concentration decreased from 5-36 mo. of age; gilts had a greater mean serum cholesterol concentration than did boars. Mean serum triglyceride concentration was greater for females than for males. From 1-15 mo. of age, serum glucose concentration decreased with no sex related difference. From 1.5-3 yr of age, gilts had greater mean serum glucose concentrations than did boars. Throughout the longitudinal study, mean serum total bilirubin concentrations were similar for females and males, with no age related variations. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
