Abstract
Using the technique of laser frequency mixing in an infrared, metal‐metal oxide‐metal point contact diode, the frequencies of 27 P‐ and R‐branch lines of the N2O, 00°1–10°0 laser band are measured absolutely by comparison to the known frequencies of the P branch, 00°1–10°0 band CO2 laser transitions. In addition to providing a new set of precision secondary frequency standards in the 10‐μ region, these measurements enable a determination of the rotational constants of the 00°1 and 10°0 N2O levels and a determination of the center frequency of the 00°1–10°0 band as 28 146 139 MHz to a part in 106.
