Abstract
Gain and power output from a transversely initiated CO2 laser‐produced plasma laser in xenon were dramatically increased by introducing a periodic spatial variation in the 10.6‐μm pumping radiation. Small‐signal gains over 55%/cm of excitation length were measured.Keywords
