Abstract
The significance to the routine laboratory of instability and inter-manufacturer variation of various standards previously demonstrated by HPLC analysis was investigated by chemical analysis. Urea, creatinine and uric acid standards from several manufacturers were studied. The causes and consequences of the demonstrated impurities, variations and instability of the standards are discussed. Keywords
