Abstract
Data from a variety of sources indicate that black men bear the brunt of the inequities in the American social, economic, and health systems. The results have crippling consequences for their families and communities as welt as for the society at large. The social work profession can play a larger role in helping to reduce the high-risk status of black men by encouraging support networks in community groups. Keywords
