Abstract

Measurements of the phosphorus electron Overhauser effect at two magnetic fields are reported for a series of phosphorus chalcogenides in carbon disulphide solutions containing the tri-butylphenoxyl radical. Large positive enhancements were observed for the P^III nuclei. This has enabled the ⁷⁷Se satellite spectra of P₄Se₃ to be analysed, and n.m.r. parameters to be obtained for a number of the compounds.
