Abstract
GENETIC epidemiological studies of schizophrenia have had a guiding influence on schizophrenia research. In particular, twin and adoption studies that suggested substantial genetic influences on the liability to schizophrenia1 helped create the empirical rationale for numerous ongoing searches to identify the predisposing genetic loci.2,3 Recently, several groups4-6 have presented evidence for genes that may be involved in the etiology of schizophrenia. Keywords
