Abstract
Thirty-four free-swimming Polychaeta are recorded from the coast of Peru. Twenty-four of these records are of true pelagic species; the remainder are probably all of swarmers of benthic forms, but in four cases the adults are unknown. Most of the pelagics have been previously recorded from the region, but a few are new to it. In some instances geographical distributions are extended. A new species of Nicon (Nereidae) is described in the male heteronereid stage. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
