Abstract
Seven cases of strongyloidiasis among workers at a jute mill in West Bengal were treated with diethylcarbamazine in doses of 6 mg per kg of body weight 3 times daily for 6 consecutive days. Nine days after the completion of this course the stools of only 2 of the 7 were negative for S. stercoralis larvae, although the treatment reduced the number of larvae in the group as a whole. Toxic manifestations such as nausea, vomiting, weakness, and epigastric pain were observed in 5 of the workers treated. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
