Abstract

Puppies subjected to ligation and division of the common duct develop a fairly uniformly progressive decrease in the blood serum Ca, reaching about \ the normal value. Young animals withstand obstructive jaundice for a longer period than adults. Decrease of the serum Ca content is not associated with increased irritability of the neuromuscular apparatus.
