Abstract
In an earlier study it was found that very few Mexican-Americans applied for public housing for the elderly. One obvious reason was lack of information about the facilities. Such lack of information may hold true for other community services. Therefore, it seemed important to learn more about the ways in which the older Mexican-American acquires information and to consider how traditional news media might be adapted to his use and other channels of communication opened to him. This is the report of an investigation into the means by which these older people obtain information, a comparison of their communication habits and capabilities with those of other elderly persons, and consideration of some ways in which the community might improve communication with its older Mexican-American members.
