Abstract
The concepts of ``bonddissociation energy'' and ``average bondenergy'' are analyzed. A mathematical treatment is suggested which makes it possible in principle to distribute the energy of atomization among the various bonds of the molecule. The relationship between the ``bonddissociation energy,'' ``average bondenergy,'' and ``reorganization energy'' is examined in the light of various molecular force fields. Keywords
