Abstract
Effects of the overhang of a specimen on the magnetic field in a single sheet tester (SST) are investigated. Three kinds of vertical yoke type SST are examined. It has been shown that the accuracy of the magnetic field strength measured by an H coil is influenced by the overhang, when the SST is of the single-yoke type one in which the H coil is set on the opposite side of the yoke, and the high grade specimen is used. On the contrary, the accuracy is not influenced by the overhang, when the two H coil method is used. Keywords
