Abstract
A method of correction and/or production of [human] kyphosis and lordosis is presented. Correction is obtained by segmental posterior traction through circumlaminar stainless steel wires brought to 2 paravertebral bars at each segment or by preformed paravertebral bars to force the spine to a preconceived balanced lordosis and kyphosis. Segmental fixation affords an effective method of correction and produces postural curves and rigid internal fixation that need no external postoperative fixation.
