Abstract
The macroscopic and microscopic changes produced in the skin of rabbits by the local application of xylol and the intradermal inj. of staphylococci are the same in [female] rabbits in which the ovaries are removed 30 to 60 days previotisly as they are in normal rabbits and oophorectomized rabbits given a estradiol benzoate. Capillary permeability as shown by the localization of trypan blue is not influenced either by the presence of [alpha] estradiol benzoate or the absence of the ovaries. The accumulation of polymorphonuclear leucocytes in areas of inflammation apparently is not influenced by the absence of the ovaries or the presence of [alpha] estradiol benzoate in oophorectomized rabbits. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
