Abstract
In its content of reserpine, Rauwolfia caffra root-bark compares favourably with other species. The highest proportion of reserpine is found in the inner phloem whereas the ajmaline group of alkaloids, except for their absence in the cork, are more evenly distributed. The alkaloid content of thin bark exceeds that of thick bark and is very low in the wood of stem and root. Keywords
