Abstract
From measurements of the vertical sea level muon spectrum reported earlier this year Ayre et al., the exponent of the production spectrum of the muons' parents has been calculated. As muon parents, pions and kaons decaying via the Kmu 2 mode only have been considered. There is an indication of a decrease in the value of the exponent of the pion production spectrum for Epi >100 GeV which supports the suggestion of a flattening of the primary cosmic ray spectrum in the region 1012-1015 eV made by Wdowczyk and Wolfendale (see abstr. A73421 of 1973).Keywords
