Critical conditions for the formation of infinite networks

Abstract
The general expression for determining the critical point in the condensation of mixtures of A‐monomers of varying functionality with mixtures of B‐monomers of varying functionality has been obtained utilizing the assumptions made by Flory in his early work on the formation of infinite networks. It is shown that at the critical point, pApB = 1/[(f′ – 1)(g′ – 1)] where pA and pB are the respective probabilities that an A or B group has reacted, and f′ and g′, respectively, give the average functionality of A and B.Keywords
