Abstract
—they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree and none shall make them afraid—let all people walk every one in the name of his god and we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever. (Micah 33–5) The informed consent.of the mentally ill to their hospitaJization and treatment has raised questions and controversy with regard to its validity. This article deals with the different solutions proposed to answer these issues. One possible solution - anticipatory consent for psychiatric treatment - is discussed in depth. Keywords
