Abstract
In-situ heating of the icosahedral phase in (Al6Mn)1−xSix, x = 0·02 and 0·04, in a Philips EM420 electron microscope leads to the formation of α(AlMnSi) and Al6Mn crystalline phases. The orientation relationship between the icosahedral phase and the α phase is found to be as suggested by Guyot and Audier, and Elser and Henley. Keywords
